Background

The objective of packaging design course was to create packaging of a product which will be beneficial and interactive with the user.
Understanding the chosen product, the point of sale, target audience, knowledge of the future trends and expressing the brand promise and personality that make an emotional connection with the consumer at the time of purchase.

Scope of the project

Product Chosen : Organic Manure
The brand : Exotica
, Mfd. by B.P. Engineers, Pune

Ironic to have organic manure in a plastic bag, the purpose of the manufacturer is to make more and more people aware of organic gardening using organic manure but this is not effectively communicated in the packaging.

In order to design an apt packaging solution for the product we chose, our research started with a detailed understanding of the product, the point of sale and also the target audience.

Brand : Exotica

B.P engineers started manufacturing organic manure as a hobby for his own nursery in Pune city (India) but seeing the results he started manufacturing in larger quantities. He is well acquainted with the owners of the retail store Dorabjee and hence that is their point of sale.
U.S.P of the brand :
Its a personally made manure through research and experimentation. It contains a small pouch with bacteria’s (black powder) which is to be added in water and then the water and then pour it around the plants and not on the plant. The microbes help in-
1. Better absorption of the nutrients contained in the manure.
2. Fight bacterial diseases.
